For private prescriptions you will also need to pay the medication cost at the pharmacy (for ADHD medication between £30-120 monthly depending on medication, brand, number of tablets and dose) + a fee the pharmacist charges

For continuation of private prescriptions a review appointment is needed with me within the first 3 months and then at least every 6 months

Once stable on a dose for 3 months I can ask that the GP takes over prescribing (so would be NHS funded) under a shared care agreement which usually involves an annual 30 min review appointment with me. GPs vary - some won't take over prescribing at all, so worth asking them if they will early on.
